 | 02:35 pm - Least favorite phrases in the English language #1: "Tramp Stamp" It manages to combine the enforcement of pointless rules about mainstream normativity with a reminder of the utmost importance of feminine sexual purity. These are two of my least favorite things.
Hence, my immediate & instinctive dismissal of anyone caught using this phrase as not worth my time.

Interesting. I've generally heard it used as more of a statement on the lack of creativity involved, though of course only for tattoos at the base of the spine. It's the "that person wanted to look wild and sexxxy, so they chose something from the first page of a tattoo book and had it done."
yeah, likewise. I thought it was just a really shitty tribal tattoo/kanji at the small of the back/dolphin at the ankle/flower on the shoulder, than tattoos in general.
A quick perusal of urbandictionary confirms my belief that the vast majority of definitions involve any tattoo on the ass to lower back region.
Not, of course, that otherwise would change my opinion regarding the phrase in the slightest.
Another friend of mine posted something similar just the other day - you're not a friend of dimethirwen though, are you?
Yeah, but still... when was the last time you saw this kind of tattoo and thought to yourself, "Ooooh, classy!"

That's not really the point of any tattoo though, is it?
I can't really say that "Ooooh, classy!" is something I think to myself in any context more than once a year, at the absolute most.

Wow.
An ex of mine is a tattoo artist and does those on a regular basis. While hanging out with a friend from Berlin, we were informed that the Germans have a slang term for it called Arschgeweih; literally translated as 'ass antlers'. She thought this was a hilarious meta joke for a tattoo artist and promptly had one of her co-workers ink a deer skull on her lower back, antlers included.
Visual jokes like that one should not need a goddamn paragraph of setup. |
